Pause for Calm and Connection

Guided Meditation (woven from Internal Family Systems and Mindful Self Compassion practices), Group Sharing, Q&A. Sign up at for Zoom link at bottom of this page.

12:00-12:45 pm PST

Drop ins are welcome! Feel free to invite other healing professionals. The lovely group is usually between 10-50 people–from all over the world!  The sessions are not cumulative, although the more often you practice, the more fluent and easily you can BE with your responses and emotions from a calm, curious, compassionate place.

You’ll be muted automatically and can choose to have your camera/video on or off, although it always helps our community to see one another! (but no guilt if it’s one of those days when you don’t want to be visible. I get it 😉

I open the meeting at noon, so please log in and be settled before I welcome you by 12:10pm. Have pen or writing materials, paper and privacy nearby! I lead a 15 minute meditation, give you some time for writing or quiet reflection before opening the call up to some brief sharing.

You’ll receive the Zoom link the day before and morning of. You may also register for my Extended Pause on the first and 3rd Wednesday each month. Or if you’re an IFS Clinician, monthly on a Friday. Scroll down for details!

Expanded Pause for IFS Level 1+ Grads monthly on Friday 12-1:30pm PST

Guided Meditation,  Group Share, IFS Teaching / Q&A, Brief Demos with Laura

Expanded Pauses include a guided meditation, some IFS teaching and Q&A (Ask me anything!), then I’ll work with a few volunteers individually to help you experience the process of Befriending a Part. The rest of the group listens, witnesses and extends Self energy. I spend about 10 minutes with each volunteer, unless we decide together that parts need less or more time.

This is not therapy, but rather a teaching or consultation experience. Group members agree to maintain confidentiality within the group and not share any identifying information about members or content outside of this circle. Thank you in advance for maintaining group safety and trust.  I look forward to seeing you soon. Bring your courage, honesty and curiosity!

IFS Level 1+ Grads Process Group

Currently meets monthly on Friday from 12-1:30pm PST.

  1. For IFS Clinicians (Level 1+ grads) who want to deepen your understanding and application of the IFS framework personally–which will extend to your work and relationships. While this group isn’t therapy, per se, it will be therapeutic and impact your own self understanding, facility of the Model and Self Leadership.
  2. Applies the Model to your internal and external systems through guided meditation, experiential exercises, didactic teaching, live demos, smaller and larger group sharing.
  3. Is different than my Consultation Groups, in that the focus here is applying IFS to YOUR relationship with your internal system and how you interact with others. Consult groups focus more on your therapist parts and specific clinical concerns
  4. Is not eligible for CEs.
  5. Does not qualify for IFS Certification hours. (My consultation groups do, but not Process groups.)
  6. Cost $59 early bird / $69 regular

Some background on why I’m passionate about leading groups:

After my first ten years as an LMFT, I was well on my way to abandoning the field as a burned out, discouraged, isolated and parts-driven clinician. My IFS foundation was built working as a client with Dick Schwartz for a year. I have maintained individual therapy and clinical supervision with two IFS Lead Trainers since 2009. I know how essential it is for us as therapists to make our own internal work a priority. Befriending our own systems allows us to be as present and Self led in our personal and professional interactions as possible.  IFS brings hope, transformation and effectiveness once our parts trust our Self to lead.

Facilitating groups for clinicians is one of my favorite parts of my work–largely because I believe in you and know how important you are for expanding and modeling Self energy in our world. I also know how isolating our work can be and how rare and precious is is for clinicians to connect with trusted colleagues and share vulnerable parts with one another in a safe, brave space.  I also love to see caregivers take time focused entirely on YOU and YOUR parts—not anyone else’s!

Tending to My Therapist Parts

This 2 hour group will give you an opportunity to connect with the responses stirred up from challenging or “resistant” clients in a supportive, confidential setting with other healing professionals. Our group will include a guided meditation, group sharing and experiential with a 10 minute break after an hour.

This Zoom offering is limited to mental health professionals or students, as well as Level 1 trained IFS Practitioners. Limited to 10 participants.

Your seat is reserved once you’ve registered.

Discount for Students or those under financial distress.
